Salary: Grade 5, SCP 8–14 (£22,970 – £25,296 actual salary)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus one week
Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive both academically and personally? Hawkley Hall High School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join our pastoral team and help shape a positive and respectful school culture.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting students with social and emotional challenges, and helping them re-engage with learning. You'll work closely with students, staff, and families to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide pastoral support to students, including mentoring and emotional guidance
* Monitor and manage student behaviour across the school site
* Support transitions between lessons and reintegration into classrooms
* Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies
* Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment
* Uphold and model the school's values and behaviour expectations
What We're Looking For:
Essential
* Experience working with children or young people
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
* Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
* Excellent organisational and ICT skills
* Resilience, flexibility, and a proactive attitude
Desirable
* Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (Grade C or equivalent)
* Relevant Level 3 and degree-level qualification
* Experience in a school or educational setting
* Understanding of behaviour management strategies and relevant legislation
