* Hours: 30 hours per week (12pm - 6pm), Monday - Friday, term time only + 15 days in the holidays (please note independent schools have enhanced holidays)
* Salary: P16 £26,349FTE, actual salary for 30 hours TTO + 15 days is £17,871.54

The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) is looking to appoint an Owls Teaching Assistant to support and deliver a range of engaging and stimulating activities for children in their afterschool provision.

As a GSAL Owls Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to provide a range of activities for children, both indoor and outdoor, to engage the children in your care. You will support and provide an environment where children are able to complete homework, and maintain a clean and tidy area. You will encourage children’s participation in games and activities to ensure that they are happy and safe during their time at GSAL Owls. You will be expected to assist with personal care, and support children with eating and drinking.

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent. It is desirable that you will already have a qualification in paediatric first aid and food hygiene, or you will be prepared to complete this training. Previous experience working with children between the ages of 3-11 is required, together with an understanding of their needs and the statutory requirements for after school clubs. You will be friendly, approachable and polite, and will be able to communicate effectively to create and maintain positive and trusting relationships with parents and carers.
