The Windows Build Engineer is responsible for preparing, configuring and delivering Windows devices according to predefined build standards and customer requirements. This role focuses on hands-on device setup, applying existing images, installing required software, validating functionality and ensuring every device is fully ready for deployment. Responsibilities include • Perform Windows device builds following standardised build processes and documentation • Installation of devices at customer locations • Identify and troubleshoot basic build or configuration issues • Ensure quality standards are met for each device build • Communicating with internal and external customers and support teams • Act as SME for specific build types or processes within the team • Write and maintain work instructions and knowledge articles where required • Travel to other customer sites across the country is a requirement but are infrequent Required experience and competencies • Experience with device building and hardware configuration in an enterprise environment • Familiarity with MECM / AD / Windows Server Environments • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment • Organised, proactive and customer-focused approach with a strong attention to detail • Understanding of ITIL processes in an ESM environment • Ability to gain and hold security clearance. • Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer • Possess excellent communication skills; Location: This role will be based in Herefordshire, with very occasional travel to other sites.
