Consultant Psychiatrist HMP Rochester, Cookham Wood, and Maidstone
Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist based at Kent Prisons In‑Reach Teams.
Responsibilities
* Provide consultant leadership for the In‑Reach teams at HMP Rochester (4 PRA DCC), HMP Cookham Wood (2 PRA DCC), and HMP Maidstone (2 PRA DCC).
* Deliver a wide range of clinical responsibilities for prisoners with acute and chronic mental illness, personality disorder, ADHD and other conditions.
* Manage a caseload within the multi‑disciplinary team, with patient numbers subject to CPA management.
* See patients in outpatient clinics and, when required, on the wing for emergencies.
* Complete a segregation round once a week at HMP Rochester.
* Triaged all referrals by the In‑Reach Team.
* Contribute to quality assurance activities; allocate 2 SPAs for teaching, training, clinical management, clinical governance, service development, research and other relevant activities.
Qualifications and Competencies
* Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register in Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry.
* Strong clinical leadership and multi‑disciplinary working skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and teaching.
* Experience with prison health settings preferred.
Working Environment and Training
Training will be provided in Rio and System One, the electronic health tools used by healthcare within the Trust.
