Monarch Education are recruiting for a SENDCo to join a secondary school close to Small Heath area from September. This is a full-time, long-term role with temp to perm opportunities available for the right candidate. The school are looking for an experienced SEND professional who can lead SEND provision, support pupils with additional needs and work closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure students receive the right support. QTS is required for this role. You will be responsible for coordinating support for students with SEND, overseeing EHCPs, reviewing interventions and helping teaching staff adapt provision to meet individual needs. The role will suit someone who is organised, confident with paperwork and able to manage a busy SEND caseload effectively. Role overview: SENDCo role in Alum Rock Full-time position September start Long-term opportunity Temp to perm opportunities available Secondary school setting QTS required SENDCo/SENCO experience required Key responsibilities: Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school Managing EHCPs, reviews and support plans Identifying student needs and putting appropriate support in place Working closely with teaching staff to support inclusive practice Monitoring interventions and tracking student progress Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies Supporting students with a range of additional needs Ensuring SEND records and paperwork are accurate and up to date Advising staff on strategies, reasonable adjustments and differentiation Promoting positive outcomes for students with SEND The school are looking for someone who has: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential Experience as a SENDCo/SENCO or strong SEND leadership experience Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice Experience managing EHCPs and annual reviews Excellent organisation and communication skills Confidence working with parents, staff and external professionals Ability to lead provision and support whole-school SEND practice A calm, professional and proactive approach Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching and reasonable adjustments Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing A NASENCO or NPQ SENCO qualification would be desirable, but strong SENDCo experience will also be considered.
