What you’ll be doing

As a Financial Wellbeing Officer you will be part of a team of officers that provide high-quality benefit and employment advice, guidance and support. You will be responsible for carrying out in depth assessments where you will be able to provide expert advice on all benefit related queries including, assisting customers to apply for the appropriate welfare benefits, back date requests, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals where appropriate. You will effectively engage with our customers to enable them to maximise their income, ensuring they can sustain their tenancy.

You’ll provide digital support to our customers to help them gain confidence; enabling customers to effectively access and manage welfare benefits online.

You’ll work with our partners, local support agencies and the local authority, to signpost customers to ensure there is a coordinated approach to money, employment, and training.

We try to empower our customers remotely first however, you may need to carry out visits to support customers face to face.

About you

You will have a knowledge of welfare benefit legislation including legacy and disability benefits and have a good understanding of universal credit, however training will be provided.

You’ll be a people person, someone who is able to share their knowledge of benefit and employment advice with those that really need it. You’ll always strive for the best outcome and will go the extra mile to ensure those that need support receive it.

You will be experienced in working with challenging and vulnerable customers.

Being a team player will be really important to you but being able to work independently won’t phase you as the role will require you to work in a number of ways. You will be highly motivated and resilient, and capable of managing a busy workload and prioritising competing demands.

As travel around the region will be required for the role you will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

This is a part time role and we’ll be happy to discuss a working pattern during the interviews.
