Currently have a vacancy for a
Engine Room Technician (ERT)
For service onboard their Aids to Navigation Tenders on a fixed manning rota – 28 days duty followed by 28 days leave.
The Northern Lighthouse Board is the General Lighthouse Authority for Scotland and the Isle of Man, responsible for the superintendence and management of all lighthouses, buoys and beacons within those waters. We have provided this vital safety service to mariners since 1786.
The Role – Overview
The Engine Room Technician is required to assist the Engineer Officers with the operation of ships machinery in a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly manner and will be required to carry out maintenance and repairs on ships machinery.
Salary and Benefits
· £40,213 to £43,220 per annum depending on skills and experience.

· An STCW95 Engineering Watch Rating certificate, or a relevant mechanical background experience & a willingness to work towards this within an agreed timeframe.
* Experience in any of the following trades: Marine/ Mechanical/ Automotive/ Electrical/ Refrigeration/ Hydraulic Engineering .
* Valid STCW95 basic training courses.
* ISPS Proficiency in Designated Ship Security Duties
· Suitable knowledge of ship’s engineering and safety systems or experience as listed above.
· Valid unrestricted MCA Medical Certificate (ENG 1).
