The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
6. Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
7. Maintain a calm, focused learning environment
8. Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
9. Support pupils to engage with set work and remain on task
10. Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and behaviour
11. Work across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4
You will not be expected to plan lessons, but confidence, presence, and consistency in the classroom are essential.
We’re looking for someone who:
12. Has experience working with young people (education, tutoring, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or similar)
13. Is confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour positively
14. Communicates clearly and sets firm but fair boundaries
15. Is adaptable, reliable, and professional
16. Is considering a future in teaching or education, or enjoys working in schools long-term
17. Is happy to work PAYE, with clear and transparent pay
Previous Cover Supervisor or teaching experience is beneficial, but not essential for the right candidate.

18. £110–£140 per day, depending on experience
