About the Role

The Executive Business Support Officer will provide direct executive support to several Directors in the Resources Department. The role will act as the first point of contact for the Directors, managing their diaries and inboxes, understanding their working styles, and building effective relationships with senior officers across the organisation.

Responsibilities include:

* Managing diaries and inboxes for the Directors.
* Drafting agendas, collating board packs, maintaining forward plans and action logs, and minuting meetings.
* Representing the organisation and Directors professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
* Coordinating diary management across the Executive Support Hub to support effective business operations.


About You

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self‑motivated, professional, approachable, and has excellent team support and best practice skills.


Essential Qualifications and Experience

* Experience in diary and inbox management with ability to prioritise issues and invites on behalf of Directors.
* Competent administrator with experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
* Excellent customer care skills and experience dealing with confidential and sensitive matters, acting as first point of contact and representing the organisation and Directors to stakeholders.
* Excellent prioritisation, time‑management and multitasking skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience carrying out activities relating to event hire, equipment, catering and conferences attended by management boards.


Desirable

* Knowledge or experience of working in a political environment, and of local government corporate objectives and current issues.
* Experience using MS Teams.


Other Information

Job Title: Executive Business Support Officer

Starting Salary: £31,537 (opportunity to progress to £34,434) per annum (pro rata for part time)

Hours: 37

Location: Stevenage with Hybrid working

Contract Type: Fixed Term, end date 31.12.2026

Directorate: Resources

Level: 8
