We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us to work at HMP Prisons as part of the multidisciplinary team that offers Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, to the population of HMP Norwich HMP Bure and HMP Wayland. A very warm welcome awaits you!

We are looking to recruit a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team
Qualified applicants will hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies
You will work as part of a diverse and supportive team of Psychological Therapists, PWPs, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists. We are able offer our team members the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise via training and development opportunities in different parts of our service.

Our service uses an integrated model from arrest to release from prison thus allowing a PWP's and the wider team to know the full process and journey of the service user. We have found this model really works and makes our working much more collaborative and joined up. The role will be based across the 3 prisons.

We are looking for a qualified or Trainee PWP who has knowledge and experience of working within busy and challenging environments such as community wellbeing services or secure environments and working with people who present with a range of common mental health difficulties, including depression and anxiety.
The successful applicant will work autonomously and provide direct interventions to a defined caseload of service users operating within recognised professional guidelines. Qualified PWP's will usually undertake 5 contacts to provide assessments and interventions a day with residents of the prisons. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a Psychological Therapist and report directly to the Senior PWP.

* Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience
* Skills in effective risk assessment and risk management
* Experience in the delivery of evidence based step 2 interventions
Desirable
* Evidence of working in the local community
* Experience of delivering training and developing others
Qualifications Essential
* Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification OR Experienced and Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant experiences and competencies as required
Desirable
* Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy.
* A qualification in provision of supervision
Skills Essential
* Responding flexibly and appropriately to unforeseen circumstances
* Using clinical supervision and opportunities for personal development positively and effectively

* Basic IT, including use of email/internet
