About the Role An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on designing machinery. You will be focusing on improving existing product lines, the research & development behind new product lines and solving engineering challenges. You’ll work closely with the design team to deliver innovative solutions to major manufacturers. This is a technically engaging position with scope for career development, especially as the business expands its design capabilities.
Responsibilities
1. Design and develop machinery using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
2. Create models, drawings, and bills of materials from concept sketches
3. Collaborate with sales, applications, production, and controls engineering teams
4. Produce drawing packs for manufacturing and ensurepliance with safety standards
5. Visit manufacturing and customer sites for testing, troubleshooting, and technical support
Candidate Profile We wee applicants with a strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with experience in:
6. Special-purpose machine design
7. Sheet metal, structural frameworks, and machining
8. 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Inventor) and 2D layout work (AutoCAD)
9. Engineering calculations, Excel, FEA, and CFD (beneficial but not essential)
