We are seeking a Children's Home Dual Registered Manager to oversee two of our homes in Barnsley—a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom home. You will manage daily operations to deliver high-quality care, promote the rights of young people, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Leading a team of care workers, you will work within relevant legislation and guidance to achieve positive outcomes for the young people, supporting their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with legislation, regulations (including Ofsted SCIFF), and organizational policies, incorporating an equal opportunities approach and safeguarding responsibilities.
2. Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines and provide staff training on these matters.
3. Maintain appropriate records for young people and staff, and implement monitoring and evaluation systems.
4. Provide management information and statistical data as required.
5. Innovate childcare approaches and contribute to the senior team, promoting organizational well-being.
6. Attend and chair internal and external meetings.
7. Participate in on-call duties on a rota basis, including sleep-in shifts if needed.
8. Contribute to the organization's ethos, values, and aims.
9. Write concise, evaluative reports and oversee all written communication to maintain standards.
10. Make decisions appropriately and oversee admissions and discharges.
11. Lead change and develop a vision aligned with organizational ethos.
12. Provide high-quality care and education with enthusiasm.
13. Manage and develop a team effectively.
14. Build effective relationships with colleagues, young people, and external agencies.
15. Hold a recognized social work qualification (e.g., QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, Children and Young People) and relevant experience.
16. Have at least 3 years' relevant experience within the last 5 years, including 1 year of staff supervision and management.
17. Possess a valid manual driving license, own a car, and be available for on-call duties.
18. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of children's home legislation, Ofsted inspection requirements, and safeguarding procedures.
Additional Information:
* Salary includes 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays.
* Bonus opportunities: £3,000 per home for outstanding Ofsted reports (£6,000 total), £300 full occupancy bonus monthly, and on-call payments (£25 weekday, £35 weekends).
* Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with sleep-in duties as needed.
* Petrol allowance provided when using own car, with proof of insurance required.
