Major & Complex Loss Adjuster (Property Claims)

Locations: Essex, South East, East Anglia & South of the UK
We’re working with a well-established loss adjusting firm looking to bring in an experienced Major & Complex Loss Adjuster to join their Property Division.
You’ll be handling a portfolio of high-value, complex property claims — managing each case from instruction through to settlement. The role offers a good mix of home and field-based work, with full ownership of your caseload and support from a wider team when needed.
About the Role:
You’ll manage claims end-to-end, making key decisions around investigations, policy coverage, and settlement. This role suits someone technically strong, confident with clients, and comfortable dealing with more sensitive or high-profile losses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage claims in line with company procedures and client expectations
* Take full ownership of cases and see them through to settlement
* Work to KPIs and agreed service levels
* Interpret policy wording and apply sound technical judgement
* Produce clear, accurate reports and correspondence
* Keep files updated with accurate and timely records
* Carry out site visits and manage appointments
* Build strong relationships with clients, brokers, and policyholders
* Keep all parties updated to ensure claims progress smoothly
* Work closely with colleagues to support team delivery
Additional Responsibilities:
* Support and mentor junior team members
* Step in to support leadership where needed
* Contribute to improving quality and consistency across the team
* Maintain strong client relationships and support retention
* Assist other areas of the business during busy periods
Requirements:
* Cert CILA (minimum) – ACILA preferred
* At least 2 years’ experience handling major & complex property claims
* Experience with Business Interruption (BI) claims is beneficial
* Strong knowledge of property insurance policies
* Full UK driving licence
* Confident communicator (written and verbal)
* Well organised with strong attention to detail
* Able to work independently and manage a busy caseload
* Focused on delivering a high standard of service
