ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a witty, dynamic, and enthusiastic person who is familiar with Gen Z culture and can manage KFC’s social media strategy and community. The role involves working closely with our social media agency, coordinating campaigns, managing creative content, and engaging with audiences across all channels.
WHAT WILL YOU SPEND YOUR TIME DOING
You’ll lead our social media channels, where KFC speaks with its own voice, engages members, and creates cultural buzz. Your responsibilities include:
* Driving fame and talkability across KFC’s social channels by identifying reactive moments and proactive opportunities that feel timely, playful and unmistakably KFC.
* Collaborating with social media & PR agencies to grow communities and bring campaigns, launches, and activations to life on social, ensuring everything feels native, social‑first and culturally relevant.
* Sharpening and redefining our social strategy to align with broader brand plans.
* Spotting trends, moments, and creators that fit the brand, and ensuring we are selective rather than jump‑on‑everything.
* Reviewing and tracking performance and social insights, feeding learning back into the team to continuously sharpen content and creative approaches.
* Revolutionizing our approach to creators and talent, working with creators who drive talkability, hype, and next‑gen relevance.
* Leading on innovative, cross‑channel approaches across PR & social, turning product launches into moments that generate brand talkability and drive transactions.
* Working with our media agency to plan and manage media spends, boosting budget, and expanding audiences.
* Maintaining relationships with key individuals and teams at the various agencies we work with.
* Dealing with negative PR by keeping a cool head and coordinating social responses, with basic PR awareness.
* Leveraging social partnerships (e.g., with Pepsi) to unlock opportunities for the next gen and boost cultural relevance.
* Championing best‑in‑class social creative across the full calendar, testing innovative platforms and formats to improve performance.
* Engaging happily with our followers, who are our biggest advocates.
WHAT WE’D LOVE FROM YOU
EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Social Media – either in agency or in‑house.
* Comprehensive knowledge of all social media platforms.
* A strategic thinker who can articulate ideas, plan long‑term, and execute social strategies.
* Excellent project‑management skills, having led big brand campaigns and managed multiple internal and external stakeholders.
* Prior partnership experience with external social media agencies – acting as the primary contact for all briefings, creative feedback, and production coordination.
* Enthusiasm for the brand and a genuine love for KFC.
* Copy‑writing skills that adapt instantly to KFC’s tone‑of‑voice, with flawless grammar, punctuation, and creative flair.
* Attention to detail, the ability to prioritise, work collaboratively, embrace feedback, maintain composure under pressure, and see the bigger picture.
* Strong analytical ability and experience with social analytics tools – helpful for backing ideas with data.
* Experience leading brand campaigns and/or PR activations that deliver fame and talkability.
* Demonstrated initiative and a desire to impress.
* And of course – a KFC believer.
