Core hours 37.5 hours per week. These are flexible to meet both yours and the demands of the business. Early finish every Friday
Based: Evenly split between office and factory

About the Role
You will be responsible for the entire Health, Safety and Environmental Department having a small team of three reporting into you. It is therefore essential you demonstrate an excellent competency level within your profession, with minimal support.
We are a business experiencing ongoing change, including further automation projects, with the HSE manager involved in these to ensure they are delivered safely.

To competently fulfil this role, you must demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills to ensure that staff and managers feel confident with the advice given
Key Duties Include:
* Continual development of Health & Safety and Environmental Management System
* Manage and co-ordinate both Environmental/Health & Safety Projects
* Provide guidance on H&S legislation
* Manage and support the internal and external audit programme.
* Report key Health & Safety statistics, presenting to the board of directors
* Heavily involved with assisting with the publishing of Safe Systems of Work and Commissioning Process
* Overseeing and in charge of overall environmental practices; waste management, water & pollution control, energy & carbon and sustainability
* Working collectively with customers in respect to the overall environmental strategy
Required Skills and Experience
* Managing compliance in multi-site environment
* Experience within Food Manufacturing (although not essential)
* Knowledge of COSHH Regulations
* Good knowledge or understanding of the following area: Fire, legionella, radiation and PUWER
* Ideally knowledge and experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
* Understanding of various environmental legislative laws (Environmental Protection Act, Waste Regulations and Environmental Permitting Regulations
* Full Driving Licence, as you will be expected to travel between sites

Qualifications:
* NEBOSH or IOSH
* IEMA or working towards
* Train the Trainer
* First Aid, Fire Marshal, MHE
* Advantageous to have an in date MHE instructor qualification to assist with internal training requirements with the assistance of the current MHE trainer
