You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and reactive maintenance across all areas of the asphalt plant, including rail discharge systems.Key ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:Ensuring full compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and company Safety, Health and Environmental standardsConducting plant safety and maintenance inspections, and developing safe systems of work (including method statements, risk assessments, and dynamic risk assessments)Performing electrical fault finding, maintenance, and repair work to support operational performance targetsRecording maintenance activities and work requests within Tarmac's maintenance systemAssisting with the commissioning of new plant and equipmentParticipating in regional and local maintenance meetings to support continuous improvementLiaising with site management to coordinate required repairs and maintenance activitiesCandidate RequirementsIdeally, you will have:An HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)A proactive and positive approach to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practicesStrong technical knowledge of electrical systems, ideally within a heavy industrial environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExperience within an asphalt or similar industry would be advantageous, but is not essentialAdditional InformationPlease note that this role supports plant operations running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As such, flexibility is required, including participation in an on-call rota, as well as occasional night, weekend, and bank holiday working.You may also be required to work across multiple asphalt plants within the region.
