What is the purpose of the role and expectations? The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of high-quality construction projects. You will work closely with the preconstruction team ensuring commercially astute decisions are made and the client is supported and informed at all times. A large proportion of the work is remediation and fa ade work, but you will provide support as required on the broader team portfolio. What will be my core responsibilities? Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment. Analyse drawings, specifications, and other project documents to determine project requirements. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure all aspects of the project are covered. Assess risks and opportunities, factoring them into cost estimates. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. Prepare tender submissions and support the bid process to secure new projects. Monitor and update cost databases, ensuring estimates remain current and competitive. What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? Proven experience as an Assistant Estimator and ideally experience of fa ade remediation Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials. Excellent understanding of estimating software such as ConQuest and proficiency in MS Office, notably Excel. Be able to carry out detailed measurement of works, analysis of tender documentation and prepare detailed cost estimates. Strong analytical skills alongside excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Professional study at HNC/HND/Degree standard, or equivalent experience. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Effective communication as you will work closely with the commercial and contracts team in ensuring tenders are both compliant and on time. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
