Prospero Teaching are recruiting Science Teachers to support secondary schools across the Wirral from February. These roles are suitable for teachers who can deliver engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, supporting pupils at KS3 and KS4.
This is an excellent opportunity for passionate science practitioners who enjoy building subject understanding, encouraging curiosity and helping students succeed through key stages of their secondary education.
The role
As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver well-structured, engaging Science lessons that promote strong conceptual understanding and practical skills. You will work closely with science departments and pastoral teams to support pupil progress, behaviour and engagement, particularly in preparation for assessments at KS4. Schools are looking for confident practitioners who can maintain high standards while building positive relationships with students.
Responsibilities
7. Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
8. Teaching Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics depending on expertise
9. Preparing pupils for assessments and examinations
10. Tracking, assessing and reporting on pupil progress
11. Creating a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment
12. Managing behaviour in line with school policies
13. Working collaboratively with department colleagues and support staff

The ideal candidate
18. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
19. Experience teaching Science at KS3 and/or KS4
20. Confident, enthusiastic and able to motivate learners
21. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
22. Reliable, proactive and committed to high teaching standards
23. Good understanding of safeguarding and secondary school policies
