The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of small, major and minor planning applications. This role is designed to cover existing work pressures, reduce backlogs, and ensure timely processing of incoming applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and determine small, major and minor planning applications in line with statutory requirements.
* Provide professional planning advice to applicants, stakeholders, and colleagues.
* Contribute to reducing application backlogs and supporting the delivery of efficient planning services.
* Prepare reports and recommendations for committees and senior officers.
* Ensure compliance with planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in development management within a local authority or similar setting.
* Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
