Job Description:
We are now recruiting for an Automation Maintenance Technician at our Midlands Super Hub site.
Potential earnings: over £55k per annum including allowances.
Salary: £51,051 plus night shift allowance of £2,500 per annum, 22.5 days annual leave (15 shifts), bank holidays, and a defined contribution pension scheme. Weekend shift allowances are also applicable.
The role involves working on an 8-week rota of 2 days and 2 nights shifts, with some voluntary flexibility for operational needs, including overtime and shift pattern adjustments.
Shift hours include:
* Days: 06:30 - 18:30
* Nights: 18:30 - 06:30
Royal Mail is undergoing a major technological transformation towards mechanised parcel sortation, offering a unique opportunity to be part of this exciting change and contribute to future delivery services.
The Role
Full-time position, 40 hours/week.
Responsible for ensuring automation assets are available and performing through effective maintenance, including preventative, predictive, and corrective tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing maintenance activities
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Providing support to engineering teams
* Diagnosing root causes of automation failures
* Monitoring equipment performance and collaborating with operational teams
* Leading continuous improvement projects
* Working independently and in teams to achieve goals
About you
Qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, with experience in automation equipment maintenance. Controls engineering and AGV experience are advantageous.
