Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled clinician to join our CAMHS Learning Disability team in Herefordshire. The team is based in Hereford city and sits within the wider CAMHS; we also work closely with the local schools, paediatric teams and social care. You will be delivering therapeutic interventions to improve the mental health of children and young people with learning disabilities and contributing towards service developments and clinical pathways. This is a part time vacancy for 30 hours per week. Main responsibilities

* Hold a caseload of young people with complex mental health needs and provide assessments and therapeutic interventions.
* Carry out risk assessments appropriate for children and young people with a learning disability and monitor/evaluate interventions using outcome measures.
* Work collaboratively to meet the needs of the young person, promoting effective communication with patients, their families, colleagues and other professionals.
* Operate in CAMHS bases, schools and patients homes; occasional work in highly emotional environments requiring self-awareness and effective communication skills.
* Adhere to safeguarding policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Undertake Choice assessments and deliver planned treatment through partnership work, using evidence-based approaches to care.
* Maintain contemporaneous records, upholding confidentiality in line with Trust guidelines and professional bodies.
* Utilise appropriate frameworks to identify, refer, monitor and support children in need, working in partnership with external agencies.
* Provide highly specialised advice/clinical guidance concerning best practice to colleagues or external agencies where necessary.
* Liaise with colleagues from statutory and voluntary agencies including schools, early help providers, social care, and other Trust staff/services.
* Contribute to clinical supervision and provide supervision and support to junior staff.

Qualifications

Essential

* A current professional qualification (RMN, RSCN, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist)
* Evidence of continuous professional development and post-qualification training
* Willingness to provide original certificates to verify qualifications at point of offer

Desirable

* Relevant accredited courses (e.g. Leadership, CBT, eating disorders) and supervision/mentorship training
* Non-medical prescriber


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Essential

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (verbal and written)
* IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Ability to support learning needs of self and others; prioritise complex workloads; motivational leadership; effective team player; ability to manage change and work across boundaries

Desirable

* Teaching, innovative approach, and ability to implement critical analysis


About the Role Details

* Band: Band 7
* Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per year (pro rata)
* Contract: Permanent
* Working pattern: Part-time
