What is the job role?

Internal Communications Lead - Coventry City Council

Are you a skilled communicator passionate about engaging and empowering employees?

Coventry City Council is seeking an Internal Communications Lead to play a pivotal role in connecting with our 4,+ employees across the city. You'll deliver an internal communications strategy that drives engagement, supports organisational priorities, and fosters a culture of openness, inclusion, and collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing day-to-day delivery of our internal communications strategy
2. Planning multi-channel campaigns that support change, engagement, and wellbeing
3. Creating compelling content for our intranet, newsletters, digital screens, and staff events
4. Providing strategic advice to senior leaders on effective team engagement
5. Chairing our Internal Communications and Engagement (ICE) Board
6. Championing inclusive, accessible communications that represent our diverse workforce

You'll bring proven experience in internal communications and staff engagement, with expertise in strategic campaign planning, content creation, and stakeholder collaboration.

You'll thrive managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and use insight to continuously improve our approach.

Grade 7 | Hybrid working available | Council House, Coventry
