Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with strong Business Analyst capabilities to support a high-profile public sector programme. This is a 12-month contract opportunity working on critical digital transformation initiatives that deliver meaningful impact to citizens and public services.
The role is fully remote, with very occasional travel to London-based offices for key workshops or stakeholder sessions.
The Role
You will operate at the heart of a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team, ensuring effective Scrum practices while also contributing to business analysis activities. This is a hybrid role suited to someone who can facilitate Agile ceremonies with confidence while also eliciting, analysing, and documenting business requirements.
You will play a key role in enabling delivery momentum, removing impediments, and strengthening collaboration between technical teams, product owners, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum Master Duties
* Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives)
* Coach teams in Agile best practices and continuous improvement
* Remove blockers and manage dependencies across teams
* Support the Product Owner in maintaining a healthy, prioritised backlog
* Track and report on delivery metrics (velocity, burn-down, risks)
Business Analyst Responsibilities
* Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and validate requirements
* Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
* Support process mapping and documentation
* Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
* Ensure traceability from business requirements through to delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery environments
* Strong Business Analysis experience within complex programmes
* Experience working within public sector or government environments
* Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills
* Ability to write high-quality user stories and supporting documentation
* Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe desirable)
* Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence
Desirable
* Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM)
* Business Analysis certification (e.g., BCS, IIBA)
* Experience working on digital transformation or large-scale service redesign
* Understanding of governance and compliance within public sector settings
