We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Multi‑Disciplinary Learning Disability Team. The position is full time (37.5 hours per week) and runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
In this role you will provide a comprehensive administrative service across the Learning Disability Service, supporting clinical teams with a range of tasks. These include scanning and uploading documents, handling telephone enquiries, booking patient appointments, maintaining patient demographic records, and recording reasonable adjustments on electronic systems. You will also carry out reception duties, welcoming patients and responding promptly to calls.
The role is varied and fast‑paced and works within a friendly and supportive team. We are looking for someone with previous administrative experience, strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and who reflects our Trust values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, and Integrity.
Responsibilities
• Provide high‑quality, responsive and co‑ordinated administrative support to the Learning Disability Team, working collaboratively with clinical teams, GP practices and external agencies.
• Ensure accurate health records are maintained and services are provided based on clinical need.
• Deliver a friendly and efficient reception service and maintain essential resources and equipment.
• Use and maintain clinical and information systems within specified timescales.
• Provide excellent customer care, demonstrating interpersonal and communication skills, and meet the needs of clients with barriers to understanding and access to learning disability services, via telephone, electronic forms or face‑to‑face.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
Qualifications
* Previous administrative experience in a healthcare or similar setting.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Demonstrated commitment to the Trust values of Compassion, Trust, Respect and Integrity.
* Basic computer skills and experience with electronic records systems.
