Help us make a difference as a Night Maintenance Technician at the Leicester Ball Mill.
Monday to Friday – 20:00 to 05:00
(45 hours per week)
Note: Flexibility may be required in line with operational needs
Salary - £45,207 per annum
The role
The Maintenance Technician will support the ongoing maintenance and reliability of plant equipment at the Leicester Ball Mill facility. Responsibilities include conducting preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, and supporting engineering activities to ensure plant availability and performance. You will work as part of the night shift team to ensure all machinery and systems operate efficiently and safely.

Your core responsibilities
* Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct PPE use, and report incidents or near-misses immediately.
* Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and respond promptly to breakdowns or reactive issues.
* Record all maintenance work accurately using the CMMS system and assist with machine inspections and parts identification.
* Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability.
* Collaborate with operations teams to reduce downtime and maintain high housekeeping standards.
* Report concerns or issues to the Engineering Supervisor promptly.
* Ensure full compliance with company policies and participate in audits and corrective actions.
* Share technical knowledge with the team and promote a safety-first work environment.
Requirements
* Mechanical engineering qualification NVQ Level 3 minimum (desirable but not essential)
* Process-minded with experience in industrial maintenance using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Previous experience in the waste industry, particularly with heavy plant and conveyors
