Our opportunity
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Maintenance Team Member to help keep our hotel safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for guests and staff alike. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in a job well done, and understands that great maintenance is a big part of great hospitality.
You’ll work across guest rooms and shared spaces, responding to maintenance requests, carrying out repairs, and helping prevent issues before they happen. You’ll also interact with guests and colleagues, so a positive attitude and clear communication are just as important as technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out general maintenance and repair work across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
*
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency call-outs when required
*
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep the property in top condition
*
Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and management to prioritize and complete work orders
*
Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and to a high standard
*
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders using basic computer or mobile systems

Skills & Experience Required
Technical & Practical Skills
*
General maintenance skills including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
*
Painting and decorating experience, including preparation and painting of all surface types
*
Strong troubleshooting ability – able to diagnose problems quickly and safely
*
Experience with preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and upkeep of rooms and common areas
*
Hands-on repair experience with fixtures, appliances, doors, lighting, locks, and fittings
*
Comfortable using tools and equipment commonly found in building maintenance, such as:
o
Angle grinders
o
Circular saws
o
Drills
o
Jet washers
o
Ladders
o
Working safely in tight or confined spaces
Safety & Work Environment
*
Strong safety awareness, with the ability to follow building regulations and fire codes
*
Willingness to work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in noisy, dusty, or hot environments
*
Able to respond after hours in the event of an emergency
Communication & Teamwork
*
A genuine customer service mindset – you’ll regularly interact with guests and team members
*
Clear, respectful communication with housekeeping, front desk staff, and managers
*
Strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple work orders efficiently

Good attention to detail and pride in completing clean, professional repairs
Technology & Administration
*
Basic computer or mobile app skills for logging work orders, maintenance reports, and inspections
