Our client, an established engineering business in Leighton Buzzard, is currently looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to join their engineering team and help drive the quality section forward.
The company is known for producing high-precision, low-volume tubular and threaded components, serving a number of industries including aerospace, defence.
Quality Inspector Job Overview
Contribute to driving the quality section forward with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Work with the team to create and maintain a Quality focused culture throughout the business.
Dimensionally and visually inspect products to detailed technical drawings and specifications.
Carry out first offs, last offs, patrol inspection, incoming material and final inspection checks.
Communicate with our customers to discuss any potential or actual quality issues discovered.
Quarantine, log and report all non-conforming products promptly.
Investigate and analyse any non-conforming product or any deviation to specification and raise Concession requests and when required, Non-conformance reports.
Raising First Article Inspection Reports (training can be provided)
Create, review and verify Certificates of Conformity.
Accurately complete manufacturing records, ensuring accuracy and full product and process traceability.
Support the Quality Manager in shaping and evolving the company's quality strategy.
Quality Inspector Job Requirements
Previous experience working within a precision engineering company and metal machining environment - Essential
Experienced with both visual and dimensional inspection (micrometres, bore gauges, callipers, height gauges etc.), and be used to working to extremely tight tolerances and critical deadlines - Essential
Knowledge and experience of full inspection requirements, reports and CMM utilisation - Essential
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, understand and identify all engineering symbols and the requirements they demand - Essential
Ability to measure accurately in both metric and imperial units - Essential
Previous experience and certification in inspection under an AS9100 or equivalent quality system - Desirable
Maintain accurate manufacturing records, ensuring traceability and documentation of quality issues
Competence in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software
Quality Inspector Salary & Benefits
Salary £33,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience and contribution to quality strategy)
Monday - Thursday 8.00am-5.00pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm
Holidays are 28 days including Bank Holidays + extra bonus holiday over the Christmas Period to ensure a full shutdown from the 23rd of Dec to the 3rd of January
