Full time SEN Teaching Assistant – Atherton
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with aim to transition to a permanent position)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Are you a patient and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant who thrives on helping children succeed? We are seeking a caring and dedicated individual to support two pupils (twins) in Year 4 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a friendly and inclusive primary school in Atherton (M46).
This role offers a wonderful opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of two pupils who benefit from consistent, structured, and nurturing support throughout their school day.
Requirements:
* A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience working with children with ASD or other additional needs is needed.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A kind, patient, and reliable approach to supporting children’s development.
* The ability to use initiative, stay calm under pressure, and work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build strong, trusting relationships with both pupils to promote confidence and engagement.
* Encourage positive social interaction and model effective communication during class and playtime.
* Support the development of emotional regulation strategies, helping pupils manage transitions and new experiences.
* Adapt and prepare learning resources to meet individual needs and learning styles.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to review progress and adjust strategies when needed.
* Create a calm, supportive learning environment where both pupils feel secure and valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
