Nursery Practitioner – Full-Time (Term Time Only)
Location: Maintained Nursery School, Nelson
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Term Time Only
Start Date: November 2025 (flexible for the right candidate)
We are recruiting a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to support the learning and development of children aged 2‑4 years in a well‑established maintained nursery in Nelson.
About the Role
As a Nursery Practitioner you will play a key role in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. You will work alongside a committed and experienced team who value collaboration, creativity, and child‑led learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children's learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
* Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities
* Foster a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe and confident
* Collaborate closely with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals
* Observe and assess children's progress, contributing to their learning journeys
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and safeguarding
What We're Looking For
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent)
* A genuine passion for early years education and development
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
* Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting (desirable but not essential)
