Requirement: Civil Resident Engineer\nLocation: Wales & South West England\nSalary: £65,000 + Vehicle + Bens\nThis role will be within our clients Electricity Transmission team in Wales and South West England.\nOur client design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.\nDuties\nWe’re looking for a Civil Resident Setting Out Engineer (R.E.) to join our clients Electrical Transmission team. You’ll help deliver key substation projects across the UK, working with big names like National Grid and SSE.\nDay-to-day, you’ll support the Civil Site Manager, making sure everything on site runs smoothly, safely, and on time.
You’ll be hands-on with planning, design, and construction, helping keep things on track and up to standard. If you’re into big infrastructure, love working on-site, and want to be part of a team that takes pride in doing things right, this could be the role for you!\nRole responsibilities:\nSet out civil works: RC foundations, drainage, ducting, earthworks, roads, fencing\nSupport site and project managers in meeting key design and build milestones\nReview and advise on Temporary Works; assist TWC/TWS throughout project lifecycle\nPrepare handover documents, H&S files, and inspection plans\nResolve on-site design issues and manage change control (TQs/RFIs)\nCoordinate as-built drawings and ensure timely client submission\nAttend design/coordination meetings and support tender planning\nExperience & Qualifications\n3+ years’ experience in surveying/setting out\nCivil Engineering degree or equivalent\nExperience in electrical transmission/distribution preferred\nLicence required\nFamiliar with NG Transmission Procedures and BS5975 Temporary Works\nStrong communication and relationship-building skills\nConfident with Microsoft Office, databases, and CAD\nGood understanding of technical specifications and supplier requirements
