Quality Engineer

Up to £50,000 per annum
We are looking for a quality engineer to deliver professional quality engineering support to the manufacturing function, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements. The role focuses on inspection, continuous improvement, and supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders with quality-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.
Train operators in inspection techniques and equipment usage, including preparing work instructions.
Manage calibration of measurement and test equipment (M&TE).
Recommend and drive improvements in quality and inspection methods.
Compile final inspection reports and trend analyses.
Prepare inspection documentation and reporting templates.
Investigate and manage non-conformances and customer complaints using 8D/5Whys methodologies.
Prepare and submit customer documentation packs.
Conduct internal system and process audits as per schedule.
Perform supplier audits, including reporting and follow-up.
Essential:
Minimum 5 years of recent experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent role.
Strong mechanical inspection background.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
Skilled in selecting and applying appropriate measurement techniques.
Confident producing accurate inspection reports.
Desirable:
CMM programming experience (preferably Hexagon S Chrome with tactile & laser heads).
Proficient in PC-DMIS software (ideally PC-DMIS Level 2).
Certificate of competence in CMM programming.
ISO 9000 Internal Auditor qualification.
