The forklift Service engineer or forklift engineer role is working in a service and repair role for an established and successful business. The position involves the service, repair, and planned maintenance of material handling equipment and could be either a combination of field service and workshop based work. A company vehicle would be provided for the field service work, so a full driving licence is required.
Key tasks for the forklift Service engineer or forklift engineer role
* The ability to diagnose equipment faults and problem solve on forklifts
* Repair, service and planned maintenance of the equipment
* Field service and workshop based work
* Requires the ability to work on your own in the field after full product training or as part of a team in the workshop.
* Preparing customer reports and paperwork on the equipment
* In addition, the forklift Service engineer or forklift engineer is likely to have good Mechanical, Hydraulic and, if possible, basic 12v Electrical experience relating to this type of equipment.
* Any Loler knowledge would also be advantageous.
Candidates suited to this role are likely to have the following
* Ideally, you will have experience in servicing and repairing forklifts or plant or an Agricultural engineering background with related knowledge.
* However, general service engineering of similar equipment or a vehicle mechanic background may be suitable and product training for successful candidates would be provided.
* Any recognised qualifications are useful but time served experience will also be suitable.
