Robert Half Technology are assisting a Aerospace organisation to recruit a 3rd Line Engineer on an initial 6 month contract basis. Bedford Based
Role
1. The 3rd Line Engineeer will be responsible for the administration and 3rd line support of Networks
2. Administration and 3rd line support of Servers
3. Investigating and addressing technology risks and issues on the network
4. Maintaining and upgrading systems to remain in compliance against policy
5. Support of backend applications
6. Server and communication room remediation including cabling, UPS device installation/configuration.
7. Patching and logging data cabling
8. Current state analysis of the IT Systems
9. Designing, Documenting, Implementation and manage improvements, such as network segmentation, sever builds, MFA, VPN improvements, additional network security
10. Maintaining data backup and restore. Designing, implementing, managing a solution to mitigate ransomware attacks.
11. Ensuring all patches are implemented in line with policy (Cyber Essentials)
12. Monitoring of firewalls server applications
13. Administration of Windows Servers & Linux Servers
14. Supporting service deployment activities by providing systems support, and participating in the design and development of new IT/OT services.
15. Designing and performing tests for the functionality, performance and manageability of IT services to support service transition activities.
16. Ensuring IT process and procedures are applied.
17. Ensuring that all system and operating documentation and knowledge is up to date and properly utilised.
18. Comply with the Health and Safety procedures and standards.
19. Carry out any other duties which may be required in order to facilitate the efficient and effective running of the department as requested by the IT Manager or Head of Digital & Technology.
Profile
20. The 3rd Line Engineer will have solid experience with Windows server experience (designing, configuring, managing)
21. Linux server experience (designing, configuring, managing)
22. VMware experience (designing, configuring, managing)
23. Networking experience (Switches, Firewalls, VPN's as minimum, ideally Cisco, Palo Alto and Barracuda devices)
24. Experience and knowledge of Secure by Design, Zero Trust, Cyber Essentials
25. Relevant certification in network and / or server management such as MCSE, CCNA, VMware certification, etc
26. SC security clearance
27. Experience in using IT Service Management tooling such as Managed Engine, ServiceNow, or similar.
