Freelance Site Engineer - Enabling & Structures Location: Central London (City of London) Project: Major Commercial Development - 65 Gresham Street Rate: Competitive (DOE) Duration: Ongoing / Long-term freelance opportunity Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm The Role We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support the delivery of Enabling and Structures works on a high-profile commercial development in the City of London. The role is with a well-established principal contractor delivering complex inner-city construction projects. You will be site-based at 65 Gresham Street, working closely with the site and project management teams to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme. Key Responsibilities Setting out and engineering support for RC frame and demolition works Managing and checking setting out, levels, and as-built records Supporting the delivery of enabling works and structural packages Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and method statements Liaising with subcontractors, consultants, and site management Maintaining high standards of health & safety and quality on site Requirements Proven experience as a Site Engineer on UK construction projects Strong background in RC frames and demolition Experience delivering enabling works and structures packages Valid CSCS Card Valid SMSTS Ability to work autonomously and integrate with a principal contractor team Strong communication and organisational skills About the Company The contractor is a respected UK principal contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, particularly in dense urban environments.
