Intervention Specialist – Maths & English – Small Group Work
Location: Stockport / Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time or part-time (flexible timetable)
Pay: £89 – £105 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
We are working with several secondary schools across Stockport and Manchester that are looking to recruit an Intervention Specialist to deliver targeted Maths and English support to small groups of students at KS3 and KS4. This role is ideal for graduates, unqualified teachers, experienced tutors, or former educators looking to make a direct impact on pupil progress and attainment.
Main Duties:
* Deliver structured intervention sessions (1:1 and small groups of up to 5 pupils).
* Identify barriers to learning and implement tailored support strategies.
* Track and report on pupil progress, adapting session plans as necessary.
* Liaise with SENCOs, Heads of Department, and classroom teachers to align intervention with curriculum objectives.
* Focus on developing literacy, numeracy, comprehension, and exam preparation skills.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
* Strong academic background in Maths, English or a related subject.
* Previous experience working with young people in educational or mentoring settings.
* A confident, professional presence and excellent communication skills.
* A good understanding of the GCSE curriculum is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
