People & Culture Advisor
Location: Uppingham, Rutland | Salary: up to £95,000 depending on experience | Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

You’ll provide first‑line advice to managers, lead key processes, and drive initiatives that enhance wellbeing, equity, and employee experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide first‑line advice to managers on performance, attendance, wellbeing, and employee relations issues.
* Manage sickness absence, probation reviews, and occupational health referrals.
* Conduct exit and stay interviews and share insights with the People team.
* Maintain accurate records in HRIS (Cascade).
* Revise people policies and toolkits to reflect best practice and organisational values.
* Ensure compliance with employment law and internal processes.
* Analyse HR data to identify trends and risks, and recommend improvements.
* Prepare reports on exit interviews, probation check‑ins, and wellbeing initiatives.
* Support redundancies, school exits and TUPE transfers with accurate documentation and calculations.
* Provide guidance during consultations and organisational changes.
* Champion wellbeing and EDI initiatives, ensuring reasonable adjustments for colleagues with disabilities.
* Coordinate Employee Forum and EDI meetings, capturing actions and outcomes.
* Attend manager meetings and deliver training on people policies and practices.
* Work closely with People Partners and L&D to improve manager capability.
Qualifications
* CIPD level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
* Solid experience working in a People Advisor role, supporting colleagues and following policies and procedures.
* Good knowledge of UK employment law.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proven ability to build meaningful relationships and contribute to developing a positive employee experience.
