You will work with the team in managing all aspects of financial administration for the clients attending the hospital for the specialist veterinary care provided for their pets. We see approximately 4500 clients attending 10000 appointments each year and the role will typically include the following tasks. 1. Raising invoices for veterinary services provided 2. Taking payments from clients in person and via telephone 3. Managing pet insurance claims 4. Client debt management 5. Assisting clients with financial and other general enquiries 6. Allocation of payments using the Veterinary Practice Management software system 7. Working with clients, insurance companies and our Clinical staff to resolve a range of insurance related queries 8. Responding to and helping to resolve client complaints 9. Working with the hospital reception and telephone handling teams as required to help manage front desk and other reception duties This is very much a client focussed role with the opportunity to learn valuable skills which will serve as a solid foundation for any client or customer service based role. The training you will be getting Working towards a Level 3 Qualification in Business Administration, training will take the form of on the job development within the Small Animal Teaching Hospital on the Leahurst Campus in Neston, working with established administrators you will learn all aspects of the financial administration and client service delivery by completing tasks as carried out by the other team members. Off-the-job training will also be a feature and apprentices will be required to attend six half day workshops which will be delivered once a month over a six-month period. Workshops will cover topics relating to stakeholders, business sectors, project management, influences on a business, market forces and presentation skills. In addition to the online workshops which will be delivered via Teams, apprentices will be required to attend monthly one-to-one coaching sessions with industry experts. Self-study activities are available 24/7 via our online learning platform. What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship Upon completion of this apprenticeship the role holder will have valuable skills and experience in financial administration, insurance claim handling and client/customer services. While there may not be a opening within the Small Animal Teaching Hospital the successful candidate will be eligible for redeployment to suitable roles across the university. We have had previous business admin apprentices successfully move into full time client services roles with our previous apprentice now established with the hospital reception team.
