Trust Clinical Lead for Cancer, Cancer Manager and Oncology / Chemo Manager, take responsibility for the development of strategic direction and policy setting for the Trust in relation to the Regional and Trust Cancer Strategy, policy and service developments.
Lead service development of Cancer Services, working collaboratively with other teams to implement and to evaluate effectiveness.
Main duties of the job
Form an essential communications link with the Divisional Heads of Nursing and the wider cancer nursing and AHP workforce.
Contribute to the implementation of the Trust Strategic objectives, National guidance, Wessex and System wide Cancer strategies.
Ensure systems and processes are in place comply with regulation and governance requirements.
To function at a senior level, proactively leading and providing solutions to resolve complex issues (related to strategic cancer services) in accordance with professional standards, performance targets and clinical standards of care.
To be a highly visible accessible and authoritative nursing presence demonstrating the Trust vision and values in all behaviours.
To provide Trust wide professional leadership and coordination of all cancer nursing and cancer related AHP services.
To ensure DCH has the right systems and processes in place to ensure compliance with Improving Outcomes Guidance (IOG)
Lead strategic workforce planning and monitoring of the Cancer Nursing Specialist workforce to ensure delivery of National, Wessex Cancer Alliance and System strategies to deliver the National Cancer Quality measures.
To be the Lead Nurse for the Trusts’ interface for Nursing, AHP and supportive care related issues with the Wessex Cancer Alliance, and local and regional clinical networks where relevant, positively contributing to the Network’s future direction.

* Evidence of clinical and teaching experience and can provide extensive clinical advice and support to nursing and medical staff.
* Extensive post registration cancer experience
* Demonstrate leadership skills and knowledge
* Experience of motivating staff and improving individuals and team performance
* Evidence of leadership in continuous quality improvement
* Experience in developing protocols, pathways, policies and service development.
* Significant experience of productive multi and inter disciplinary working
* Evidence of commitment to on-going professional development

* Registered Nurse with NMC registration

* Project management qualification
