Role Description
The BDM is responsible for driving sales growth by identifying, developing and managing relationships with new and existing customers. The role involves qualifying leads, preparing quotations and guiding prospects through the sales process while ensuring alignment with production capabilities and customer requirements. Working closely with internal teams including design, production and procurement, the BDM ensures timely order fulfilment, accurate CRM reporting and the delivery of tailored solutions that meet client needs. The role also monitors market trends, competitor activity and performance metrics to achieve or exceed sales targets and contribute to the company’s strategic growth objectives.
Main Duties
Business Development & Sales
* Proactively identify and contact potential new customers aligned with the company’s manufacturing capabilities
* Qualify and prioritise leads based on urgency, fit and potential value
* Maintain a strong pipeline of warm and hot leads
* Respond promptly and professionally to incoming sales enquiries across all channels (email, phone, web, social media)
* Maintain accurate and timely communication records in the CRM system (HubSpot)
Customer Relationship Management
* Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times
* Identify, develop and manage new and existing customer relationships
* Nurture prospects through the sales funnel with timely follow-ups and tailored information
* Support customers with planning, funding and decision-making where required
Technical Sales and Solutions Development
* Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable aluminium solutions
* Work closely with design and production teams to assess feasibility and estimate production costs
* Prepare and deliver technical presentations tailored to client needs
Quoting and Order Processing
* Prepare accurate customer quotations
* Convert qualified leads into confirmed sales
* Collaborate with procurement, design and factory management to ensure timely order fulfilment
Performance and Market Awareness
* Achieve or exceed sales targets and performance KPIs
* Maintain strong knowledge of market trends, pricing structures and competitor activity
Industry Engagement and Representation
* Attend trade shows, industry events and customer meetings as required
General and Business Support
* Ensure all activities support the wider needs and objectives of the business.
* Maintain flexibility to support different areas of the business as required in a growing organisation.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Attributes Required
* Proven experience in sales, account management or business development, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial or technical environment
* Strong experience identifying, qualifying and managing leads through the sales pipeline
* Experience responding to sales enquiries across multiple channels (email, phone, web, social media)
* Ability to evaluate technical feasibility and work with production/design teams to estimate costs
* Skilled in preparing accurate, professional quotations and proposals tailored to client needs
* Proven track record of converting leads into confirmed sales and meeting/exceeding sales targets
* Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and manage existing accounts effectively
* Experience collaborating with procurement, production and design teams to ensure timely order fulfilment
* Familiarity with trade shows, industry events and client meetings
* Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) to track leads, communications and reporting
* Knowledge of aluminium products, manufacturing processes or technical solutions (or ability to quickly learn)
* Experience delivering technical presentations and client-focused demonstrations
* Understanding of market trends, pricing, and competitor activity
* In-depth knowledge of aluminium properties, grades and applications.
* Knowledge on HubSpot and Mie Trak.
