Roles and Responsibilities of the Responsible Individual (RI)
Must have a Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
Must have a Level 3 in Childcare.
Regulatory Oversight
* Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
* Act as the key liaison between the Registered Provider and the RegisteredManager, ensuring legal, safe, and child-centred operation.
* Represent the provider during Ofsted inspections and be available to inspectors as needed.
Strategic Leadership
* Provide a beacon of clear strategic direction, ensuring the home's vision, ethos, and values guide all operations with purpose and clarity.
* Monitor and challenge the Registered Manager's performance to maintain high-quality care and promote continuous improvement.
* Lead a culture that places paramount importance on safeguarding, compliance, and child-centred care, instilling these values in every aspect of the home's operations.
Quality Assurance and Monitoring
* Conduct regular visits to the home (equivalent to Regulation 44 visits), reviewing care practices, records, and staff behaviour.
* Ensure robust systems for ongoing quality monitoring, review, and improvement.
* Assess reports from independent visitors and take action to address any identified issues.
Safeguarding and Welfare
* Hold ultimate responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the home.
* Ensure staff fully understand and implement safeguarding procedures, with prompt reporting and handling of concerns.
* Support the Registered Manager in managing staff-related allegations, reporting to safeguarding bodies as required.
Governance and Policy
* Keep all policies and procedures up to date, legally compliant, and effectively put into practice.
* Oversee the home's Statement of Purpose and ensure adherence in daily practice.
* Ensure risk assessments, care plans, and behaviour support strategies are effective and regularly reviewed.
Leadership and Staffing
* Assist the Registered Manager with recruitment, training, performance management, and staff development.
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels and competencies to meet children's needs and regulatory requirements.
* Foster a positive, professional, and supportive working environment for all staff.
Financial Oversight
* Oversee the home's budget, ensuring responsible and transparent financial management.
* Maintain quality care within financial constraints.
Engagement and Representation
* Engage with external stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, education providers, and parents/carers.
* Represent the home and provider at multi-agency meetings, inspections, and strategic events.
* Respond appropriately to complaints, incidents, and regulatory concerns.

Pay: £21,055.62-£44,298.84 per year
