Acting as the right hand to the General Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the seamless delivery of high-volume vehicle logistics. With scope to influence performance across multiple sites, this role offers both responsibility and career progression in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
As the Deputy General Manager, you will support the overall leadership and efficiency of the operation, ensuring best practice, compliance, and continuous improvement. Your main duties will include:
* Championing Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, coaching teams to embed smarter, leaner ways of working.
* Developing and overseeing a robust resource planning model to optimise labour and subcontractor requirements.
* Acting as second-in-command, deputising for the General Manager during absences, and ensuring the site operates smoothly at all times.
* Standardising processes and embedding best practices across multiple sites.
* Delivering quality-focused operations by reducing waste, driving innovation, and maximising efficiency.
* Researching and recommending improvements—from operational layouts to IT system enhancements and workforce planning strategies.
* Providing strategic Quality and CI support across the wider network, aligning outcomes with customer KPIs and financial objectives.
* Producing clear, regular communications and reports, including written updates and monthly performance presentations.
* Ensuring strict compliance with Health & Safety, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
