We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow in Cardiac Imaging to participate in research using AI to discover gene-disease associations, investigate the causes of human aging, and understand drivers of diversity in heart disease. The work will use data from UK Biobank as well as other bioresources in the UK and internationally. This is an opportunity for clinicians in any relevant specialty to gain experience in cutting edge digital health research.
During the course of the appointment the Clinical Research Fellow may undertake studies leading to a higher research degree (MD/PhD).
You will be working in a diverse team of scientists that includes clinicians, geneticists and computer scientists to provide clinical expertise on a diverse range of projects. You will have a hands-on role with analysing data and learning new data science techniques. You will have a key role in providing clinical context for the research team and writing papers for a broad scientific audience. You will also work closely with collaborators contributing data resources and be involved in training new machine learning models.
The role is based within the Computational Cardiac Imaging Group which has developed expertise in multidisciplinary research at the intersection of computer science and human health. This post is part of a 5-year program supported by the BHF.
1. You will have a degree in medicine or equivalent and GMC registration
2. You will have minimum experience equivalent to FY2 or above
3. Knowledge of cardiovascular imaging and data science / statistical skills would be an advantage
