Due to increased demand for additional support within Nursery and Reception, the school is now looking to appoint a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.
Role Purpose
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work with children aged 3–5, supporting them in developing key early learning skills, independence, and positive relationships. You will assist with both adult-led learning and child-initiated play, helping to create a calm and engaging learning environment.
You will also provide targeted support to children with SEN, speech and language delay, EAL, and social or emotional needs, ensuring that all pupils can access learning and make progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily EYFS activities aligned with the EYFS framework
* Provide one-to-one and small group learning support
* Assist with phonics, early reading, writing, and maths activities
* Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Support classroom routines and smooth transitions
* Assist with indoor and outdoor learning opportunities
* Observe and record children’s progress and development
* Work closely with teachers, EYFS staff, SENCO, and parents
* Support personal care needs where required
* Maintain safeguarding, health, and safety standards
