Speciality Dentist - Paediatric Dentistry
Our teams provide services out of five hospitals across South East London and Kent, namely King's College Hospital, the Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup, and Beckenham Beacon. We employ nearly 14,000 staff who together treat over 1.5 million patients every year. Main duties
* The 4 PAs will comprise 3 PAs to provide dental treatment, 1 PA for new patient assessment.
* Assess and treatment plan patients referred by general dental practitioners, community dental services and internal tertiary referrals.
* Provide high quality care to patients in collaboration with other colleagues.
* Provide clinical supervision of junior medical/dental practitioners.
* Contribute to audit programmes and to the Trust’s CPD and clinical governance initiatives.
* Work within the contracted level of service and operating plan for the service(s).
* Exercise professional leadership for all staff in the specialty, fostering education and training.
* Work with clinical colleagues to maintain staff productivity and job satisfaction; may include involvement in peer/junior appraisal.

Person specification
Essential
* Full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council / General Dental Council
* Equivalent experience and competencies
* Wide experience in all aspects of Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent
* Experience in day-to-day organisation of Paediatric Dentistry services in a busy teaching hospital
* Thorough understanding of principles of clinical audit; completed audit projects
* Experience of clinical research and ability to appraise scientific literature; publication of relevant reviews or case reports
Desirable
* Familiar with current structure of Health Service and recent initiatives and changes
