Job Purpose: Day to day, youll be part of a team that is responsible for ensuring that vehicles are checked and cleaned to the required standards and available for rental use. They play a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the team. It will be essential that you maintain good communication with the office at all times to identify what time vehicles are required and to fully notify the office of any of damage and defects. The Valeter will be able to work under pressure, a confident and driven professional, driven to succeed within their role. Accountabilities: To be accountable and responsible for the vehicles they are valeting. To be accountable for the customer service received by our external and internal customers. To assist Valeter Supervisor in ensuring high customer service standards. To be accountable for your work area and any equipment provided to you. To be accountable for the Health & Safety of yourself and colleagues. To be accountable for the paperwork, files and other documents relating to your area of work Specific Duties General Responsibilities Ensure that all enquires are dealt with on the day of receipt Attend to mail, fax messages, electronic mail and telephone calls on a daily basis Deal with initial telephone enquiries from all sources in a polite and professional manner Valeting Responsibilities Valeting, cleaning and maintenance of vehicles within the fleet Developing and maintaining a vehicle schedule to ensure that vehicles are serviced to the required level. Maintenance and administration of vehicles within the company Arranging for periodic vehicle appropriate identify faults on vehicle and report them as necessary Complete handover paperwork i.e. rental check sheets, ensuring details are accurate Carrying out checks on the vehicle periodically to check fluid levels, when service is due, for defects suck as bulbs, tyres etc. Manage a busy workload Manage daily operations, dealing with various issues that arise Attending various weekly/monthly meetings and preparing updates on progress in relation to these. Effectively managing time to comply with duties and responsibilities Updating computer system/ filing system as required Line Manager Reporting Providing daily operational updates to the Valeter Supervisor Provide timely and effective feedback to management and other staff Attending various weekly/monthly operational and management meetings and preparing updates on progress in relation to these. Actively partaking in meetings as and when required Request training identified to assist in being successful in the role and attend required training ensuring that a certificate of completion is forwarded to HR Participation in GPS reviews to assess your overall performance, duties, training requirements and development. Other Adhering to the rules and regulations and Health and Safety guidelines of the company and the rules and regulations around your role Demonstrate confidentiality at all times. Commitment to preserving high customer care standards at all times Supporting team members and knowledge sharing To undertake other such reasonable duties as shall from time to time be required by the company, within the competency of the postholder. Essential Previous demonstrable experience of at least 12 months as a Valeter (preferably within the vehicle rental or hire industry) Experience of working in a customer focused environment, with demonstration of being motivated to achieve excellent service and the best possible outcomes for clients Clean Drivers Category B Licence with a good geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland and Ireland A flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the business and the role, in particular availability to work flexible hours (evenings, nights and weekends) Demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment with excellent time management skills, organisation skills, the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, work calmly under pressure and have persistent application to the tasks in hand. Excellent Communication Skills in English (interpersonal, listening, written and oral) The ability to work as part of team and make a positive contribution Ability to take accountability and work on own initiative without supervision Ability to demonstrate a problem solving approach Demonstrable commitment to confidentiality Excellent IT Skills with proven experience in all Microsoft Packages Excellent administration skills A friendly, positive, enthusiastic and professional character who is motivated by doing a good job Demonstrable commitment to goals, objectives and vision of the organisation (and the business in which you are placed to carry out your role) Professional Appearance Willing to work min of 35 hours per week Skills: Vehicle care Cleaning Vehicle Inspection Drive vehicles Benefits: 4 day week Company Pension Gym Membership Private Health Care Life Insurance
