Job purpose: In this role, you will take the clinical lead, delivering expert therapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment for clients with complex needs, including communication and swallowing difficulties, across community settings. You will guide junior staff, influence service development, and access leadership training, peer support and supervision.

Responsibilities
* Lead the SLT service within the Learning Disabilities Health Professionals team.
* Provide highly specialist therapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Adults with Learning Disabilities with highly complex or chronic presentations in a range of community locations. This includes clients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
* Assess and treat own caseload of clients, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Supervise SLT and Total Communication colleagues as part of the team support structure.
Qualifications
* A degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses and CPD.
* RCSLT-accredited postgraduate dysphagia qualification or RCSLT dysphagia competencies framework.
Knowledge and Skills
* Experience of working with Adults with Learning Disabilities.
* Experience devising and delivering training.
* Specialist knowledge in clinical fields underpinned by current evidence-based practice (e.g., learning disabilities, dysphagia).
* Knowledge of a range of assessments and therapeutic interventions for the client group.
* Good planning, organisational, and caseload management skills.
* Good presentation skills, written and verbal.
