Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.
DAY SHIFT MON-FRI 7AM-3:30PM, some weekends required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

* Assists in the installation of new equipment.
* Assists with special fabrication and construction projects.
* Follows preventative maintenance schedules.
* Performs machine repairs and installations such as replacing motors, rebuilding gearboxes, running threaded piping, welding piping, overhauling pumps, replacing packing shaft seals on cookers and pumps, welding, and using cutting torches.
* Diagnoses and repairs or replaces equipment parts with minimal guidance.
* Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
* Uses assigned personal protective equipment and observes all safety rules and regulations.
* Attends safety meetings and may serve on the Safety Committee.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED.
* Experience operating a forklift.
* Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanical work.
Qualifications
* Vocational school training.
* At least 2 years' experience with similar equipment.
* Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
* Welding proficiency in MIG and Stick, including vertical and overhead welding.
* Proficiency in control power electrical systems.
* Mechanical aptitude; able to diagnose and repair motor and equipment problems.
* Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Physical Demands
* Frequently required to push, pull, move, or lift up to 100 lbs.
* Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching.
* Regularly reaches with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Work is conducted in a processing facility with potential exposure to wet, slippery floors and high or cold temperatures.
