Commercial Manager (Proposals) – International Architecture Practice £60,000-£70,000 p.a Central London, Hybrid An internationally recognised architecture practice is seeking a commercially focused and proactive Commercial Manager to support and strengthen the financial and contractual performance of the business. Working closely with the CEO and senior project leaders, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are commercially robust, well managed, and aligned with the wider financial strategy of the practice. This position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of international design projects while contributing to the continued growth of the studio. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors. Work alongside the CEO to develop fee strategies and prepare commercial proposals. Monitor project expenditure to ensure delivery within budget while maintaining profitability. Track financial performance across multiple projects and produce regular reports for the CEO and Finance team. Advise project leads on scope definition, deliverables, and commercial considerations. Analyse project data to identify trends, improve efficiencies, and highlight opportunities for cost optimisation. Collaborate with architectural and design team leaders to promote strong commercial awareness throughout project delivery. Ensure contractual documentation complies with internal procedures and relevant legal standards. Maintain organised and accurate commercial records, including contracts, consultancy agreements, and fee proposals. Support the preparation of bids, RFP responses, and fee submissions, including coordinating sub-consultants for multidisciplinary proposals. Contribute to project initiation processes and participate in pipeline and project review meetings. Skills and Experience Professional background in architecture, design, or the wider built environment. A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, with strong exposure to contract management and fee development. Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical and analytical ability. Experience using CMAP is advantageous. Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills. Detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic in approach. Must have the right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
