An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s leading Fire and Rescue Services, as a Driving Instructor to teach, deliver and assess driving at Cleveland Fire Brigade.
You will play a key role in identifying, designing, delivering, assessing, and evaluating Driver learning and development needs of individuals.
Part of a team, you will provide training and instruction to nominated personnel for all vehicle types including specialised vehicles (including Lift Trucks). You will ensure compliance with all legislative requirements for example the National Fire Chiefs Council Fire Standard, DSA, H&S.
Candidates must have:
• Approved Driving Instructor status (must have or be working towards)
• Teaching qualification and/or A1 Vocational Assessor
• Driving Licence – Class B, B+E, C, D1(Manual)
• Evidence of relevant instructional experience specifically aligned to driving licence class C, B, B+E, plus Emergency Response Driver Training, Defensive Driving and Off Road (4-wheel drive)
• Evidence of Emergency Response Driver Training specifically relating to Fire Service
Underpinning knowledge of:
• The Highway Code
• Roadcraft: The Police Driver's Handbook – referred to as ‘Roadcraft’ or ‘the Roadcraft manual’
• Road traffic legislation
