Childcare Solicitor - Leicestershire (Local Authority role) 6 Month Contract Rate: Negotiable (Umbrella) 37 hours per week, hybrid working The provision of appropriate professional legal services to the Children & Young Peoples Service and other departments as required, together with other main duties and responsibilities. It is vital to the future of the department that the post holder is flexible in taking on additional tasks,willing to offer help to employees in other groups, and treats co-operation and support for colleagues as a top priority. The post holder will be part of a team of solicitors providing advocacy and advice in relation to the Children & Young Peoples Service, responsibilities of the Authority, in particular Specialist Services, including child protection. Providing appropriate recommendations and advice to officers of the authority, members and the Cabinet/Committees/Panels, Case Conferences and other inter-agency meetings, as appropriate. Providing professional advice and guidance in order to assist departments in interpreting and implementing Government policy and legislation to promote understanding and improve consistency.
